AN ACT EXEMPTING SENIORS' SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS FROM THE PERSONAL INCOME TAX.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 229 of the general statutes be amended to exempt Social Security benefits received by seniors from the personal income tax.

Statement of Purpose: 

To make it more affordable for seniors to live in Connecticut by exempting their Social Security benefits from the personal income tax.
