AN ACT EXPANDING ACCESS TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, in consultation with the Commissioners of Public Health and Social Services, to develop a strategic plan to expand access to substance abuse treatment and detoxification services.

Statement of Purpose: 

To combat the opioid crisis by providing adequate treatment options.
