AN ACT CONCERNING PHARMACISTS' PRESCRIPTIONS FOR OPIOID ANTAGONISTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 20-633c of the general statutes be amended to clarify that pharmacists may prescribe opioid antagonists in generic form in addition to those with the brand name Narcan.

Statement of Purpose: 

To fight opioid abuse by expanding the availability of more affordable brands of opioid antagonists to affected populations and provide access to a more affordable treatment.
