AN ACT CONCERNING TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR STATE AND LOCAL POLICE REGARDING THE ELOPEMENT OR WANDERING OF CHILDREN DIAGNOSED WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 7-294h of the general statutes be amended to establish a training program for state and local police regarding techniques for handling cases involving the elopement or wandering of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Statement of Purpose: 

To establish a training program for state and local police to handle cases involving the elopement or wandering of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and improve the safety and well-being of such children and police.
