AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ULTRA HIGH-SPEED GIGABIT-CAPABLE BROADBAND INFRASTRUCTURE, CONSUMER ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE BROADBAND SERVICES AND DEFINING A STANDARD WAGE FOR BROADBAND WORKERS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to (1) further develop ultra high-speed gigabit-capable broadband infrastructure throughout the state to provide ultra high-speed broadband services, (2) enable universal consumer access to affordable broadband services, and (3) define a standard wage for broadband workers and require municipally operated broadband companies, or any company contracted by the municipality, to pay employees such wage. Statement of Purpose: To further develop ultra high-speed gigabit-capable broadband infrastructure, enable universal consumer access to affordable broadband services and define a standard wage for broadband workers.
