AN ACT PROHIBITING HEALTH INSURERS AND OTHER ENTITIES FROM CHARGING DISABLED VETERANS FOR CERTAIN OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any insurer, health care center, fraternal benefit society, hospital service corporation, medical service corporation or other entity delivering, issuing for delivery, renewing, amending or continuing a health insurance policy in this state from charging a copayment, deductible or other out-of-pocket expense for any covered prosthetic device or related medical equipment provided to a disabled veteran under such policy. Statement of Purpose: To prohibit health insurers and other entities from requiring disabled veterans to pay out-of-pocket expenses for prosthetic devices and related medical equipment under a health insurance policy.
