AN ACT CONCERNING LACTATION CONSULTANTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2017) (a) As used in this section, "lactation consultant" means a person who holds and maintains current certification in good standing as an international board certified lactation consultant with the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners.
(b) On or before January 1, 2018, and annually thereafter, the Commissioner of Public Health shall obtain from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners a listing of all state residents maintained on said board's registry of international board certified lactation consultants. The commissioner shall post such listing on its Internet web site.

Statement of Purpose:
To require the Department of Public Health to obtain a listing of all state residents who are international board certified lactation consultants and make such listing available for public inspection.
