AN ACT CONCERNING THE BACHELOR'S DEGREE REQUIREMENT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subparagraphs (B) and (C) of subdivision (2) of subsection (b) of section 10-16p of the general statutes be amended to permit a person who holds a bachelor's degree with a concentration in early childhood education from any accredited institution of higher education to satisfy the staff qualifications requirement.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require the Office of Early Childhood to allow individuals who hold a bachelor's degree with a concentration in early childhood education from any accredited institution of higher education in the United States to teach in an early childhood education program.
