AN ACT PERMITTING ADDITIONAL POLLING PLACES AT INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION DURING ANTICIPATED HIGH-TURNOUT ELECTIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to allow any municipality to designate an additional, temporary polling location on the campus of any institution of higher education within such municipality for voting by student electors residing at such institution during any primary or election at which high turnout is anticipated.
Statement of Purpose:
To promote participation in the electoral process by students at colleges and universities and reduce voting wait times at certain polling locations.
