AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL TAX APPEALS AND ATTORNEY CONTINGENCY AGREEMENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to specify that when a person, business or lessee is being represented by an attorney in a municipal tax appeal via a contingency agreement, the attorney's fee shall be limited to twenty per cent of the value gained by the appeal of the taxpayer, when the value of the property is assessed at one and one-half million dollars or more. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To support but not encourage the appeals to superior court of tax assessments of large property owning tax payers.
