AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL EMPLOYERS, UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION AND THE APPEALS PROCESS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require that any unemployment compensation benefits that have been paid to an individual and are the subject of an appeal by a municipal employer be reimbursed to the municipal employer if such municipal employer prevails in the appeals process.

Statement of Purpose: 

To ensure that municipal employers are reimbursed for any unemployment benefits paid to an individual if, upon appeal, it is determined that the individual has no claim to such benefits.
