AN ACT ESTABLISHING A BIOTECHNOLOGY AND BIOSCIENCE INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to establish a biotechnology and bioscience investment tax credit program that provides certain individuals and entities with a tax credit equal to fifty per cent of eligible investments made to qualified biotechnology and bioscience companies in the state during the taxable year, provided any such credit shall not exceed fifty thousand dollars for individual investors and two hundred fifty thousand dollars for corporations and venture capital firms.

Statement of Purpose: 

To increase investment in and expansion of biotechnology and bioscience companies in Connecticut.
