AN ACT CONCERNING LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL FOR TUITION INCREASES AT PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require each chamber of the General Assembly to vote to approve all tuition increases proposed by the Board of Regents for Higher Education or the Board of Trustees for The University of Connecticut.
Statement of Purpose:
To require legislative approval for any tuition increase at public institutions of higher education.
