AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF ESSENTIAL SERVICES BY LANDLORDS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 47a-13 of the general statutes be amended to allow tenants to procure reasonable substitute housing forty-eight hours, rather than two business days, after a landlord fails to provide required essential services such as heat, hot water, running water or electricity.

Statement of Purpose: 

To shorten the time period that tenants are without required essential services provided by landlords.
