AN ACT CONCERNING THE FURTHERANCE OF REGIONALISM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) limit the availability of regional performance incentive program grants to regional councils of governments, (2) permit any two municipalities to form a cooperative agricultural council, (3) permit any two regional councils of governments to form a regional agricultural council, (4) require that at least one municipality joining in a cooperative economic development commission have a population of not less than seventy-five thousand, (5) permit regional councils of governments to enter into revenue sharing agreements, (6) permit regional councils of governments to establish a board, commission, council, committee or other agency to investigate allegations of unethical conduct levied against an official, officer or employee of a member municipality of a regional council of governments, (7) permit regional councils of governments to impose a fee for the use of its geographic information system, (8) permit a majority of municipalities of a regional council of governments to enter into a regional revenue enhancement agreement, and (9) permit regional councils of governments to perform the same functions as a municipality.
Statement of Purpose:
To permit the furtherance of regionalism.
