AN ACT CONCERNING CONNECTICUT JOBS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to: (1) Lower the prevailing wage threshold to two thousand dollars for both new construction and renovation projects to match the federal threshold; (2) require that private projects funded through grants or funds, including those from the Department of Economic and Community Development or any other quasi-public agency, except for projects under the auspices of a Project Labor Agreement, in excess of two thousand dollars qualify as prevailing wage projects; (3) require that all construction, alteration or repair projects approved by the State Bond Commission, excluding maintenance projects and loan guarantees, in excess of two thousand dollars be prevailing wage projects; and (4) require that all construction under this section be considered a state contract for purposes of the State Contracting Standards Board.

Statement of Purpose: 

To create jobs in Connecticut's construction industry.
