AN ACT CONCERNING A MEDICAID STATE PLAN AMENDMENT TO COMBINE RATES FOR HOMEMAKER AND COMPANION SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Social Services shall seek federal approval for a Medicaid state plan amendment to pay a provider of homemaker services and companion services, as defined in section 20-670 of the general statutes, at the single rate set for homemaker services when both services are provided to a single client of a Medicaid-funded program in the same visit.

Statement of Purpose:
To authorize the Commissioner of Social Services to pay one rate for homemaker and companion services to a provider who provides both services in a single visit to the same client of a Medicaid-funded program.
