AN ACT CONCERNING IMPROVED PUBLIC ACCESS TO CERTAIN BUSINESS RECORDS FILED WITH THE SECRETARY OF THE STATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective October 1, 2017) The Secretary of the State, or the secretary's designee, shall direct the Commercial Recording Division of the office of the Secretary of the State to make enhancements to the CONCORD commercial records database, on or before July 1, 2018, that allow a member of the public to ascertain the name and address of a business entity's agent for service of process by entering the name of the owner, officer or agent of a business entity in the database.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To require the Secretary of the State to enhance the CONCORD commercial records database by allowing a member of the public to ascertain the name and address of a business entity's agent for service of process by entering the name of the owner of such business entity in the database.
