AN ACT CONCERNING STATE IDENTIFICATION FOR INMATES UPON REENTRY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2017) The Commissioners of Correction and Motor Vehicles shall ensure that each inmate possesses a state identification card issued pursuant to section 1-1h of the general statutes or a motor vehicle operator's license issued pursuant to chapter 246 of the general statutes at the time such inmate is discharged from a correctional facility.

 


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose: 

To make inmates more employable upon discharge from a correctional facility.
