AN ACT CONCERNING RETIREMENT AND HEALTH CARE BENEFITS FOR CERTAIN STATE EMPLOYEES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require all state employees and officials who are exempt from classified service and not vested in any state-administered retirement plan to participate in a defined contribution benefit plan, rather than the current defined benefit system, and a higher deductible health care plan.

To create state budgetary savings by placing nonunion state employees in health and retirement plans that are similar to those in the private sector.
