AN ACT EXEMPTING REPLACEMENT VEHICLES FROM THE SALES TAX.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 219 of the general statutes be amended to exempt from the sales tax the value of a replacement vehicle comparable to the motor vehicle replaced when a manufacturer accepts the return of a motor vehicle with a nonconformity or defect from a consumer in exchange for a replacement vehicle.
Statement of Purpose:
To remedy the disparity of sales tax in cases of replacement vehicles.
