AN ACT LIMITING THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND IN-SERVICE TRAINING REQUIREMENT RELATING TO THE RESTRAINT AND SECLUSION OF STUDENTS TO CERTAIN EDUCATORS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapters 166 and 170 of the general statutes be amended to limit the professional development and in-service training requirement relating to the restraint and seclusion of students, in accordance with the provisions of section 10-236b of the general statutes, to only those teachers and school personnel who work directly with students receiving special education and related services.

Statement of Purpose: 

To reduce mandates on school districts.
