AN ACT CONCERNING EXCEPTIONS TO THE PREVAILING WAGE REQUIREMENT IN PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (h) of section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to (1) increase the prevailing wage threshold to one million dollars for the total cost of work to be performed in connection with new construction of any public works project and to four hundred thousand dollars for the total cost of work to be performed in connection with remodeling, refinishing, refurbishing, rehabilitation, alteration or repair of any public works project, and (2) index such thresholds to inflation annually.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide relief from municipal mandates by increasing the prevailing wage thresholds.
