AN ACT CONCERNING THE MONITORING OF HEALTH CARE TRENDS BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to increase the authority of the Attorney General to monitor health care market trends by collecting information from any health care provider, health care provider organization or private or public health care payer through document production, interrogatories and testimony under oath regarding health care cost, cost trends and factors that contribute to cost growth in the state's health care system and the relationship between provider costs and payer premium rates.

Statement of Purpose: 

To address imperfections in the health care market.
