AN ACT CONCERNING THE BIDIRECTIONAL EXCHANGE OF PATIENT ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 19a of the general statutes be amended to clarify that the use by a hospital of its electronic health records systems to enable the bidirectional exchange of patient electronic health records under section 19a-904c of the general statutes requires a hospital to both accept from and send to community health care providers patient electronic health records, including, but not limited to, diagnostic imaging.
Statement of Purpose:
To improve the quality of patient care.
