AN ACT CONCERNING INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR INPATIENT SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAMS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to require that any insurer, health care center, fraternal benefit society, hospital service corporation, medical service corporation or other entity delivering, issuing for delivery, renewing, amending or continuing a health insurance policy in this state cover inpatient substance abuse treatment programs not less than fourteen days in duration. Statement of Purpose: To require insurance coverage of inpatient substance abuse treatment programs not less than fourteen days in duration.
