AN ACT REQUIRING EMERGENCY GENERATORS IN CERTAIN HOUSING FOR THE ELDERLY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require owners of housing complexes with more than one hundred units and a high proportion of elderly residents to install emergency generators for power outages.

Statement of Purpose: 

To protect vulnerable senior citizens from being displaced or needing daily emergency services for health needs during power outages.
