AN ACT ESTABLISHING SEVENTH DEGREE LARCENY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 53a of the general statutes be amended to establish a seventh degree of larceny as an infraction.
Statement of Purpose:
To alleviate the backlog of criminal court cases by allowing a fine to be assessed for any minor larceny charge rather than requiring a court appearance and criminal proceedings.
