AN ACT PERMITTING A SCHOOL DISTRICT TO WAIVE UNFUNDED STATE EDUCATION MANDATES IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to permit a local or regional board of education to waive any unfunded state education mandate if the town of such board of education experiences a reduction in equalization aid grant funding from the prior fiscal year.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide education mandate relief to school districts when state funding for education is cut.
