AN ACT ELIMINATING THE MINIMUM BUDGET REQUIREMENT FOR A TOWN THAT EXPERIENCES A REDUCTION IN ITS EDUCATION COST-SHARING GRANT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-262j of the general statutes be amended to permit a town to reduce its budgeted appropriation for education if such town experiences a reduction in equalization aid grant funding from the prior fiscal year.
Statement of Purpose:
To eliminate the minimum budget requirement for any towns that experiences a reduction in its education cost-sharing grant.
