AN ACT PROHIBITING THE IN-SCHOOL SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION OF A CHILD SEVEN YEARS OF AGE OR YOUNGER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That sections 10-233c and 10-233d of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any student who is seven years of age or younger from receiving an in-school suspension or being expelled from school.
Statement of Purpose:
To assure children have equal access to an education and that appropriate discipline is administered based on the age of the child and on the age of reason.
