AN ACT CONCERNING RESOURCES FOR ADVANCED MANUFACTURING AND HEALTH CARE TRAINING PROGRAMS IN EASTERN CONNECTICUT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide resources to (1) expand advanced manufacturing and health care training programs in eastern Connecticut in order to prepare workers for new careers following job losses in the gaming industry, and (2) fill the pipeline for jobs in the defense manufacturing industry and feeder companies associated with such industry.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide resources to expand training opportunities for workers in southeastern Connecticut seeking employment in or employment transition to the advanced manufacturing, health care and defense manufacturing fields.
