AN ACT CONCERNING THE FORM OF OATHS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 1-25 of the general statutes be amended to add "upon penalty of perjury or false statement" to the oath for members of the General Assembly, executive and judicial officers, notaries public, electors, members and judge-advocate of a court-martial and polling place officials.
Statement of Purpose:
To amend the wording of oaths taken by individuals and officials to provide all persons with a meaningful oath, without necessitating public identification of a particular belief system.
