Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Subdivision (3) of subsection (a) of section 10-234dd of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2017): (3) Upon receipt of notice of a breach of security under [subdivisions] subdivision (1) or (2) of this subsection, a local or regional board of education shall electronically notify, not later than forty-eight hours after receipt of such notice, the student and the parents or guardians of the student whose student information, student records or student-generated content is involved in such breach of security. The local or regional board of education shall post such notice on the board's Internet web site. Sec. 2. Section 4-165c of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2017): No cause of action or liability shall arise against the state, any of its agencies or subdivisions, or any state official, employee or agent, for failure to comply with the provisions of section 4-67y, 8-359b, 10-215h, 17b-4a, 17b-112i, [17b-112j,] 17b-790b or 19a-59g.
