Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Insurance Commissioner shall conduct a study regarding the sale and potential sale of time-limited insurance policies in this state. For purposes of this section, "time-limited insurance policy" means any insurance policy that an insured may activate, reactivate and deactivate on demand. (b) Not later than October 1, 2017, the commissioner, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, shall report the results of the study conducted under subsection (a) of this section to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to insurance. Such report may include the commissioner's recommendations concerning legislation authorizing insurance companies to sell time-limited insurance policies in this state.
