Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Department of Economic and Community Development, in collaboration with Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated, the Department of Education, the Board of Regents for Higher Education and The University of Connecticut, shall conduct a study relating to the state's bioscience education pipeline, including an inventory of the educational resources available at public and private educational institutions in the state to prepare students for careers in the bioscience field. Not later than January 1, 2018, the department shall submit a report of the results of such study to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to commerce, education and higher education, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.
