Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) (a) The Department of Education shall establish an alternate route to certification program for school social workers. Such program shall be available to any person who is licensed as a clinical social worker pursuant to chapter 383b of the general statutes. The department shall establish the requirements for the alternate route to certification. (b) The State Board of Education shall issue certification in the certification endorsement area of school social worker to any person who successfully completes the alternate route to certification program established pursuant to this section.
