AN ACT CONCERNING THE PENALTY FOR SPOOFING. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 16-256e of the general statutes be amended to make any 1 person using a device which transmits an unsolicited recorded 2 telephone message for any commercial, business or advertising 3 purpose to any telephone customer in the state and which continues 4 the call and message after the customer hangs up the receiver while 5 intentionally using a blocking device or service to circumvent a 6 telephone customer's use of a caller identification service or device 7 guilty of a class E felony. 8 Statement of Purpose: To change the penalty for spoofing to a class E felony.
