AN ACT CONCERNING PARTICIPATION IN INTERSCHOLASTIC
ATHLETICS BY HOMESCHOOLED STUDENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 170 of the general statutes be amended to (1) prevent a 1
local or regional board of education from denying a student who is 2
homeschooled from participating in an interscholastic sports program 3
offered by the school district, and (2) require local and regional boards 4
of education to adopt standards for academic eligibility and residency 5
for such homeschooled students that are consistent with the provisions 6
of the Constitution of the state regarding homeschooling. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To provide equal access to interscholastic athletics for students who
are homeschooled.
