AN ACT PROHIBITING FURLOUGHS FOR INMATES WHO ARE
SERIOUS VIOLENT OFFENDERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 18-101a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit 1
persons convicted of murder or serious violent felonies from being 2
permitted to leave prison through a furlough. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To protect the public by prohibiting inmates who are serious violent
offenders from taking furloughs.
