AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF GLOBAL POSITIONING 
SYSTEMS BY CERTAIN COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 14 of the general statutes be amended to require 1 
commercial motor vehicles that are designed or used to transport 2 
passengers or property and have a gross vehicle weight rating of ten 3 
thousand pounds or more to be equipped with a global positioning 4 
system capable of informing the driver of such vehicle of clearance 5 
restrictions, load limits, one-way streets and traffic restrictions.  6 
Statement of Purpose:   
To increase public safety by requiring certain commercial motor 
vehicles to be equipped with global positioning systems capable of 
providing drivers with adequate warnings of clearance, load and 
traffic restrictions.
