AN ACT CONCERNING THE LICENSURE OF PROFESSIONAL
COUNSELORS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 383c of the general statutes be amended to create a 1
tiered licensure structure for professional counselors that provides 2
recent graduates of professional counselor education programs with 3
greater professional marketability, increases the number of mental 4
health professionals and ensures proper oversight over professional 5
counselors who are under professional supervision. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To provide recent graduates of professional counselor education
programs with greater professional marketability, increase the number
of mental health professionals and ensure proper oversight over
supervised professional counselors.
