AN ACT CONCERNING THE CALCULATION OF RETIREMENT
INCOME FOR NEWLY HIRED STATE EMPLOYEES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require, for any state 1
employee hired on or after the effective date of this act, that such 2
employee's retirement income be calculated on a cost-averaging basis 3
over the last ten years of the employee's state employment, irrespective 4
of interagency transfers. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce state employee pension costs.
