AN ACT ESTABLISHING A CREDIT AGAINST THE PERSONAL INCOME TAX FOR THE PURCHASE OF A HOUSE BY FIRST -TIME HOMEBUYERS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 12 of the general statutes be amended to establish a credit 1 against the personal income tax for first-time homebuyers of up to ten 2 per cent of the purchase price of a house, to a maximum of seven 3 thousand five hundred dollars, provided such house is the primary 4 residence of the homebuyer for at least five years from the date of 5 purchase. 6 Statement of Purpose: To establish a first-time homebuyers' tax credit program.
