AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY RANKED - CHOICE VOTING. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That a task force be established to study the implementation at 1 elections of a method of casting and tabulating votes in which (1) 2 voters rank candidates in order of preference, (2) tabulation proceeds 3 in sequential rounds in which last-place candidates are defeated and 4 until one candidate receives over fifty per cent of the votes cast, and (3) 5 the candidate receiving over fifty per cent of the votes cast is deemed 6 to have been elected to such office. 7 Statement of Purpose: To establish a task force to study ranked-choice voting.
