AN ACT REQUIRING HOSPITALS TO OFFER AN INFLUENZA VACCINE TO SENIOR CITIZENS PRIOR TO DISCHARGE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require hospitals, in 1 accordance with the recommendations from the Advisory Committee 2 on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and 3 Prevention, to offer any person sixty-five years of age or older the 4 influenza vaccine prior to discharge, after an assessment for 5 contraindications and contingent upon the availability of the vaccine. 6 Statement of Purpose: To require hospitals to offer influenza vaccines to all senior citizens prior to discharge.
