BOLINSKY, 106th Dist. SEN. HWANG, 28th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR STUDENT TEACHERS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 10-221d of the general statutes be amended to allow a 1 candidate in a program of teacher preparation to submit to a single 2 state and national criminal history records check, including 3 fingerprinting, in a year for purposes of completing his or her student 4 teaching experience requirement, and that such criminal history 5 records check may be shared with multiple local and regional boards 6 of education if such candidate completes such student teaching 7 experience in multiple school districts during such year. 8 Statement of Purpose: To allow a single background check in a year for student teachers and to allow such background check to be shared among multiple boards of education.
