Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 1-4 of the general statutes be amended to designate as a 1 legal holiday the Tuesday after the first Monday in November and to 2 remove either Lincoln Day or Washington's Birthday as a legal 3 holiday. 4 Statement of Purpose: To establish election day as an official state holiday for the purpose of voting.
