(By Request) AN ACT CONCERNING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES TO ELECTION DAY REGISTRATION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to provide that (1) a 1 municipality may designate additional locations for the processing of 2 election day registration applications, and (2) a municipality's 3 registrars of voters shall, prior to an election, jointly certify to the 4 Secretary of the State the anticipated staffing level for the designated 5 election day registration location, which certification may be rejected 6 by the Secretary if it is determined such staffing level is insufficient for 7 such location. 8 Statement of Purpose: To permit towns to provide additional locations for election day registration and require that registrars of voters advise the Secretary of the State of expected staffing levels at election day registration locations.
