AN ACT CONCERNING CHANGES TO THE PROCESS OF VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 145 of the general statutes be amended to make certain 1 changes to the process of voting by absentee ballot, including, but not 2 limited to (1) not requiring absentee ballot applicants to also mail the 3 original application to the municipal clerk if such applicant has already 4 returned a completed application to such clerk by facsimile machine or 5 other electronic means, (2) permitting multiple absentee ballots to be 6 returned to such clerk in one outer envelope, provided the inner 7 envelope for each such absentee ballot is sealed, and (3) allowing 8 additional means for the return of absentee ballots to such clerks. 9 Statement of Purpose: To make certain changes to absentee voting, including, but not limited to, the manner in which a ballot may be returned to the municipal clerk.
